Early 2025, we had this feeling that it was time for a change. We had been living in Charlotte, NC for about 20 years and had just become comfortable living there. The climate in many aspects just was not right for us and we did not want to continue with our lifestyle there.  

Then the search started for where we would move our family. It was a careful balance of budget, walkability, schools, nature and urban spaces, weather, politics, and most importantly… community.

We set our sights on the Woodward corridor and narrowed it down to Berkley, Michigan.

We have settled in pretty well and want to become more involved with our community… with that… Ramshackle Unite was born!
